T-shirt Lamp Shade!

I just finished another fun "recycling" craft. This is an old, stained lamp shade and old men's t-shirts (minus the stained armpits:). Here are the step by step instructions!

Begin by tracing circles on your old t-t-shirts. I used about 3 inch round circles. The circles don't have to be perfect.

Then cut out your circles. Your stack will look large but you will be cutting more I'm sure! I used 5 entire men's XL shirts!

After you cut the circles you will need to fold them in half 3 times like in the pictures below.

Then using a hot glue gun glue the tip of each circle to the shade until you have covered the entire shade.

After that you will need to "fluff" each of the circles to finish off your amazing new shade!

Birthday Display

I made a display for our family and friends' birthdays. It's a great reminder for those special days and looks great hanging on the wall!

I painted a piece of wood from Hobby Lobby. Then attached the letters. I used ribbons and bottle caps for the names and dates! Easy, cheap and practical craft:)

Wedding Gift

We had a college friend's wedding in January and I wanted to do something fun for their gift. I ended up making this great wine basket! There is a bottle of wine and a poem for several fun "firsts" as a married couple! I hope they enjoy it! It sure was fun to make!

Superbowl Food

We had our small group over for a Superbowl Party yesterday and I tried a new recipe.  It was such a hit so I thought I would share it here!

Cheesy Buffalo Chicken Dip:
2 bone-in chicken breast halves
1 tsp olive oil
1 stalk celery, finely diced
8 oz reduced-fat cream cheese
3/4 cup blue cheese dressing
3/4 cup ranch dressing
1/3 cup hot pepper sauce
16 oz velveeta cheese
2 TB crushed red pepper seasoning

Directions:
1.  Place chicken breast in large saucepan; cover with water.  Boil until cooked through, about 20 minutes.  Remove from water and cool.  Pull meat from bones and skin.  Shred meat and reserve.
2.  Heat olive oil in large skillet.  Stir in celery; cook until soft.  Mix in the cream cheese, blue cheese dressing, ranch dressing, and velveeta cheese.  Cook and stir until smooth and creamy.    Stir in chicken, hot sauce, and seasoning.
3.  I kept everything in a crockpot for the evening to keep it warm.
4.  Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!
